BALTIMORE (Interstat) β A surging Navy team looks to continue its dominant run through the Patriot League when it visits Loyola Maryland on Wednesday night at Reitz Arena. The Midshipmen (23-6) enter on a 10-game winning streak, the latest an 81-63 rout of archrival Army on Saturday. They sit atop the conference standings and have not lost since Jan. 10. Navyβs success is fueled by a balanced attack and the standout play of forward Aidan Kehoe. The junior is averaging 18.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists during the win streak, posting five double-doubles in that span. In the 87-71 win over Loyola on Jan. 31, Kehoe scored 23 points with seven rebounds. The host Greyhounds (11-18) have struggled for consistency but are coming off a narrow 101-98 overtime road loss to second-place Colgate. Guard Jacob Theodosiou erupted for 25 points in that contest, his second such performance in three games. He scored 15 in 18 minutes against Army on Feb. 18. Loyola will need a similar offensive burst to challenge a stout Navy defense that has held opponents to an average of 61.2 points during its streak. The Midshipmen also lead the series 4-1 in the last five meetings. For Loyola, Emmett Adair (23 points, nine rebounds vs. Colgate) and Braeden Speed (19 points, seven assists) provide additional scoring options. Navy counters with guard Austin Benigni, who dropped 27 points in the win over Army, and forward Jinwoo Kim. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST. Navy concludes its regular season at home against Colgate on Saturday. Loyola travels to face Holy Cross the same day.
