BOSTON (Interstat) β A late-season Patriot League menβs basketball matchup with implications for tournament seeding is set for Wednesday afternoon when Boston University hosts Holy Cross at Agganis Arena. The Terriers (13-16, 8-8 Patriot) enter the contest looking to solidify a position in the upper half of the conference standings and sweep the regular-season series. The Crusaders (10-19, 6-10), meanwhile, aim to build momentum after snapping a four-game skid with a 72-63 road win at Bucknell on Sunday. Boston University won the first meeting this season, 72-64, in Worcester on Feb. 2. In that game, Terriers guard Chance Gladden scored 14 points, while Holy Cross standout Gabe Warren was held to a season-low 2 points. Both players enter the rematch in strong form and will be focal points. Warren, a 6-foot-6 junior, is coming off a dominant performance against Bucknell, logging 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists in 36 minutes. Over his last five games, he is averaging 17.2 points and 6.2 rebounds, providing consistent production for the Crusaders. Gladden has been the engine for the Terriers, showcasing a versatile all-around game. The senior guard averages 15.4 points and 6.1 assists per game in conference play. He nearly posted a triple-double in a win over Army on Feb. 11 with 14 points and 11 assists, and he scored 17 points in a narrow loss at Lehigh last time out. Boston University has won four of its last six games, with its offense averaging 81.2 points per game during that stretch. Holy Cross has struggled for consistency but demonstrated its capability with the recent road victory and a 20-point performance from Warren in a win over Lehigh earlier this month. The game will be the final regular-season home contest for the Terriers, who honor their seniors beforehand. Holy Cross looks to improve its road record, currently 4-10 away from home, and play spoiler. Following this game, Boston University travels to face American on Saturday, while Holy Cross returns home to host Loyola Maryland.
