Preview: Bucknell Bison at Army Black Knights WEST POINT, N.Y. (Interstat) — Two Patriot League men’s basketball teams seeking to halt losing streaks will meet Wednesday afternoon when the Army Black Knights host the Bucknell Bison at Christl Arena. Army (11-18) enters the contest having lost three of its last four, including an 81-63 home defeat to rival Navy on Saturday. The Black Knights will look to junior guard Jaxson Bell, who scored 17 points in that loss and is averaging 13.1 points per game over his last eight contests. Bucknell (8-21) arrives at West Point on a five-game skid, most recently falling 72-63 to Holy Cross on Sunday. The Bison will lean heavily on sophomore forward Achile Spadone, who is in the midst of a standout individual stretch. Spadone is averaging 17.8 points and 6.4 rebounds over his last five games, including a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double against Holy Cross. The matchup is a quick rematch of a Jan. 21 thriller, which Army won 87-84 in overtime at Bucknell. In that game, the Black Knights erased a late deficit to force the extra period and secure the road victory. Both teams have struggled in conference play, with Army sitting at 5-11 in the Patriot League and Bucknell at 4-12. Wednesday’s game represents one of the final opportunities for each to build momentum ahead of the conference tournament. For Army, protecting home court is critical, as they are 7-7 at Christl Arena this season. Bucknell, meanwhile, has managed just two road wins all year and will need Spadone and fellow forward Amon Dörries, who had 20 points and nine rebounds Sunday, to control the interior to have a chance. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. Army visits Lafayette on Saturday, while Bucknell travels to Lehigh.
