Preview: Wyoming Cowboys at Boise State Broncos BOISE, Idaho (Interstat) β Two teams jockeying for position in the Mountain West Conference standings will meet Tuesday when the Boise State Broncos host the Wyoming Cowboys at Taco Bell Arena. The Broncos (16-11) and Cowboys (15-12) enter the final stretch of the regular season with nearly identical records, making this a pivotal game for postseason seeding. Boise State holds a slight edge in the conference after defeating Wyoming 81-65 in Laramie just over a month ago on Jan. 20. Wyoming arrives having won two of its last three, including a 70-65 road victory at Grand Canyon on Saturday. The Cowboys are led by guard Leland Walker, who is averaging 13.0 points and 3.4 assists over his last seven games. Walker scored 13 points with four assists in the win over Grand Canyon. Boise State is coming off an 84-69 home win over San Jose State on Saturday. The Broncosβ offense runs through forward Drew Fielder, who is averaging 16.1 points over his last seven contests. Fielder was dominant against the Spartans, posting 20 points, five rebounds and two blocks in 26 minutes. Both teams have shown resilience in close games recently. Boise State has won two of its last three overtime contests, including a 91-90 thriller at New Mexico on Feb. 7. Wyoming, meanwhile, has played in four games decided by five points or fewer since late January, going 2-2 in those contests. The matchup features contrasting recent trajectories. The Broncos have won three of their last four at home, while the Cowboys have lost four of their last five true road games. Following this contest, Boise State travels to face Fresno State on Saturday, while Wyoming returns home to host Air Force. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST Tuesday at Taco Bell Arena.
