Preview: Washington Huskies at Rutgers Scarlet Knights PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum for the final stretch of the regular season will meet Tuesday when the Washington Huskies visit the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in a Big Ten men’s basketball matchup at Louis Brown Athletic Center. Washington (13-14) arrives after a narrow 64-60 road loss at Maryland on Saturday. The Huskies have lost five of their last seven games. Rutgers (11-16) is looking to rebound from an 80-61 defeat at Minnesota, also on Saturday, and has dropped four of its last six. The game features a compelling matchup at guard between Washington’s Zoom Diallo and Rutgers’ Dylan Grant. Diallo is coming off a strong 19-point, 5-assist performance against Maryland and has been a consistent offensive catalyst. Over his last seven games, the sophomore is averaging 14.4 points and 6.7 assists, including a 16-point, 12-assist double-double against Iowa on Feb. 4. Grant provides a scoring punch for the Scarlet Knights. The forward has reached double figures in five of his last seven outings, including 15-point performances in wins over Penn State and Maryland earlier this month. His activity will be key against a Washington frontcourt that includes Franck Kepnang, who had eight points and five rebounds against the Terrapins. Both teams have struggled for consistency in conference play. Washington’s recent wins have come against Minnesota and Northwestern, while Rutgers has secured home victories over Maryland and Penn State in February but has faced defensive lapses on the road. The Huskies will continue a challenging road swing, while the Scarlet Knights play their final home game before closing the season with two road contests. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. Washington visits Wisconsin on Saturday. Rutgers travels to Maryland next Sunday.
