(Interstat) ā The Indiana Hoosiers, looking to rebound from a lopsided road loss, will host the Northwestern Wildcats in a Big Ten menās basketball matchup Tuesday night at Assembly Hall. Indiana (17-10) enters the contest following a 93-64 defeat at Purdue last Friday. The Hoosiers have alternated wins and losses over their past six games. Guard Lamar Wilkerson has been a consistent offensive force, averaging 26.1 points over his last seven contests. His highlight was a 41-point performance in a 92-74 win over Oregon on Feb. 9. Northwestern (11-16) snapped a five-game losing streak with a 78-74 home victory over Maryland on Feb. 18. The Wildcats have struggled on the road this season, with all five losses in their recent skid coming away from home. The game features a compelling matchup between two of the conferenceās top scorers. Wilkerson will be countered by Northwesternās Nick Martinelli, who is averaging 19.3 points over his last seven games. Martinelli scored 29 points in the win over Maryland and had 34 in a victory over Penn State on Jan. 29. Indiana won the seasonās first meeting, 72-67, in Evanston on Jan. 27. Wilkerson led the Hoosiers with 19 points in that game. For Indiana, the game is crucial for bolstering its NCAA tournament resume. The Hoosiers are 12-3 at home this season. For Northwestern, the contest represents an opportunity to build momentum and play spoiler on the road. After Tuesday, Indiana hosts Michigan State on March 1. Northwestern returns home to face Oregon on Feb. 28.
