AUBURN, Ala. (Interstat) — Two Southeastern Conference men’s basketball teams looking to steady their postseason resumes will meet Saturday when the Kentucky Wildcats visit the Auburn Tigers at Auburn Arena. Kentucky (17-9, 7-6 SEC) arrives having dropped two straight, including an 86-78 home loss to Georgia on Tuesday. The Wildcats’ offense has been potent, averaging 84.2 points in their last five games, but defensive consistency has been an issue during the skid. Auburn (14-12, 5-8) has lost four of its last five, most recently falling 91-85 at Mississippi State on Wednesday. The Tigers have shown flashes, including wins over Texas and Florida last month, but closing out tight games has been a struggle in February. The spotlight will be on a pair of high-scoring guards. Kentucky’s Otega Oweh is averaging 22.0 points over his last seven games, including a 28-point effort in the loss to Georgia. His ability to create offense is central to the Wildcats’ attack. For Auburn, Keyshawn Hall has been a bright spot amid the team’s struggles, scoring 29 points in 40 minutes against Mississippi State. He is averaging 23.7 points over his last six contests and will be the primary focus of the Tigers’ offense. Kentucky holds the superior overall record, but has been uneven on the road in SEC play. Auburn will rely on its home-court advantage, where it is 10-4 this season. The Wildcats won the season’s first meeting, 85-80, in Lexington on Jan. 17. Both teams are in need of a quality conference win to bolster their standings before the final stretch of the regular season. Kentucky aims to avoid a three-game losing streak, while Auburn seeks to halt its recent slide and build momentum for a late push. Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2026.
