Preview: Oklahoma State Cowboys at Colorado Buffaloes BOULDER, Colo. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to halt late-season slides will meet Saturday when the Oklahoma State Cowboys visit the Colorado Buffaloes in a Big 12 Conference men’s basketball matchup at the Coors Events Center. Oklahoma State (16-10) arrives having lost four straight, including an 81-69 home defeat to Kansas on Wednesday. The Cowboys’ recent struggles have been defined by defensive lapses, allowing an average of 86.3 points during the losing streak. Colorado (14-12) has also stumbled, dropping five of its last seven games. The Buffaloes are coming off a heartbreaking 90-86 overtime loss at BYU on Feb. 14, a game in which they squandered a late lead. The spotlight will be on two standout guards. Oklahoma State’s Parsa Fallah is a dynamic scorer, averaging 18.4 points over his last five games despite the team’s losses. He poured in 27 points in an overtime loss to TCU on Feb. 14. Colorado will counter with Barrington Hargress, a consistent offensive engine who logged 41 minutes and scored 20 points in the overtime loss at BYU. He has scored in double figures in 11 consecutive games. The Cowboys won the season’s first meeting, 84-71, in Stillwater on Jan. 10, behind a balanced scoring attack. Replicating that on the road will be a challenge. Colorado is 10-4 at home this season, including a win over Arizona State earlier this month. Both teams are in need of a quadrant-one victory to bolster their postseason resumes. For Oklahoma State, stabilizing its defense is paramount. For Colorado, closing out a tight game against a conference foe is the urgent task. Saturday’s contest tips off at 7 p.m. MST and will be televised on ESPN2. Oklahoma State visits Cincinnati next on Feb. 28, while Colorado hosts Kansas State on Feb. 25.
