LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Interstat) — Two ASUN Conference men’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Bellarmine Knights host the Eastern Kentucky Colonels at Knights Hall. The matchup features teams with nearly identical records, as Bellarmine (11-16) holds a slim one-game edge over Eastern Kentucky (10-18) in the standings. Both squads are coming off narrow home losses on Wednesday. The Knights fell 75-72 to Lipscomb, while the Colonels dropped an 84-78 overtime decision at North Alabama. Eastern Kentucky will look to replicate its dominant performance from the first meeting this season, a commanding 89-69 home victory over Bellarmine on Jan. 17. The Colonels have shown recent flashes, including an overtime win over West Georgia and a 100-point outing against Stetson earlier this month. A key player for the Colonels is Montavious Myrick, who is coming off a 19-point performance against West Georgia and has scored 15 or more points in four of his last eight games. His versatility will be central to Eastern Kentucky’s attack. Bellarmine counters with guard Brian Waddell, who led the Knights with 18 points in the loss to Lipscomb. Waddell has been a consistent offensive threat, including a 26-point outing at North Florida last month. The Knights have found success at home recently, securing conference wins over Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson at Knights Hall earlier in February. Both teams have struggled for consistency in a tightly packed ASUN. With the conference tournament approaching, Saturday’s game represents a critical opportunity for either squad to build a late-season run. The Knights will aim to defend their home court and avenge January’s lopsided loss, while the Colonels seek their first road win since early February. Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2026.
