Preview: Binghamton Bearcats at Massachusetts-Lowell River Hawks LOWELL, Mass. (Interstat) — The Massachusetts-Lowell River Hawks will look to complete a regular-season sweep and solidify their standing in the America East Conference when they host the struggling Binghamton Bearcats on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026. The River Hawks (11-15, 5-6 America East) enter the contest at Costello Athletic Center with momentum, having won three of their last four games, including an 88-69 rout of Bryant on Feb. 12. They previously defeated the Bearcats 73-68 in Binghamton on Jan. 10. Conversely, the Bearcats (5-22, 2-9) are mired in a difficult season and have lost five of their last six games. Their most recent outing was a narrow 77-74 home loss to Albany on Feb. 14. A key matchup will feature two of the conference’s top guards. Massachusetts-Lowell is led by Xavier Spencer, who is averaging 18.3 points over his last three games. He scored 22 points in the win over Bryant. Binghamton will rely on Wes Peterson, who is coming off one of his best performances of the season with 18 points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 39 minutes against Albany. His production, however, has been inconsistent during the Bearcats’ skid. For the River Hawks, support for Spencer comes from Angel Montas and Darrel Yepdo, who each added 22 points in the Bryant victory. Binghamton’s Bryson Wilson, who had 10 points and nine rebounds against Albany, and Jeremiah Quigley (14 points, five assists) will need to provide secondary scoring. With the America East tournament approaching, the River Hawks aim to build on their recent form and secure a home victory. The Bearcats, seeking to snap a four-game road losing streak, will attempt to avenge their January loss and find a spark to salvage their season. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST.
