Preview: Princeton Tigers at Brown Bears PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Interstat) — Two Ivy League men’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Friday afternoon when the Princeton Tigers visit the Brown Bears at Pizzitola Sports Center. Both teams enter the Feb. 20 matchup with sub-.500 overall records. Princeton sits at 8-17, while Brown is 7-15. The contest is a rematch of a Jan. 24 game, which the Tigers won 63-53 at home. Princeton has lost three straight since that victory, including a 75-65 home loss to Columbia on Saturday. The Tigers will lean on guard Dalen Davis, who is coming off a 19-point, four-assist performance in that defeat. Davis was instrumental in the first win over Brown, scoring 22 points with five rebounds and three assists. Brown snapped a five-game skid with a 79-76 road win at Dartmouth on Saturday, powered by a career-high 30 points from guard Landon Lewis. Lewis has been a consistent offensive force, scoring 30 points twice in his last five games. He was held to 13 points in the earlier loss at Princeton but nearly recorded a double-double with nine rebounds and three blocks. The Tigers have struggled offensively during their losing streak, failing to reach 66 points in any of the three games. Brown’s defense, which allows an average of 73.6 points per game, will look to extend that trend. Conversely, the Bears have shown offensive flashes but have been inconsistent. Their win over Dartmouth marked only their second victory since late December. Historically, Princeton has controlled the series, but both teams are near the bottom of the Ivy League standings and will view this as a critical opportunity to build confidence for the final stretch of the season. The game could hinge on the backcourt duel between Princeton’s Davis and Brown’s Lewis. Following this game, Princeton will host Harvard and Dartmouth next weekend. Brown will hit the road for games at Columbia and Cornell.
