DE LAND, Fla. (Interstat) — A surging Central Arkansas team visits a struggling Stetson squad in an ASUN Conference men’s basketball matchup Thursday at Edmunds Center. The Bears (17-10) enter on a seven-game winning streak, their latest a 79-62 victory over West Georgia on Saturday. They have not lost since Jan. 10. The Hatters (9-18), meanwhile, have dropped six of their last eight, including a narrow 78-76 defeat at Florida Gulf Coast last time out. Central Arkansas dominated the first meeting this season, a 93-73 home win on Jan. 3. The Bears’ current run has been fueled by balance and efficiency, averaging 84.1 points per game during the streak. A key player for Central Arkansas is guard Ty Robinson, who is coming off a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double against West Georgia. Over the last eight games, Robinson has averaged 14.8 points. Stetson will counter with forward Collin Kuhl, who posted a massive 28-point, 12-rebound performance in the loss to FGCU. Kuhl has been a bright spot, recording four double-doubles in his last nine contests. The Bears have found consistent scoring beyond Robinson, with Luke Moore adding 21 points in the last game. Stetson’s challenge will be finding defensive answers after allowing 100 points in two of its recent losses. Central Arkansas sits firmly in the upper tier of the ASUN standings, while Stetson looks to play spoiler and build momentum at home before its next game against North Florida on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST Thursday.
