BOBCATS, WILDCATS SET FOR BIG SKY REMATCH OGDEN, Utah (Interstat) — A tightly contested Big Conference race brings a rematch to the Dee Events Center on Thursday as the Weber State Wildcats host the Montana State Bobcats. The Wildcats (13-14, 4-6 Big Sky) will look to avenge a 91-88 road loss to the Bobcats (15-11, 6-4) from Jan. 24 and improve their standing in the league. Montana State enters with a two-game cushion over Weber State in the conference win column. Montana State arrives with momentum after an 82-71 road victory over rival Montana on Feb. 14. The Bobcats are led by guard Jed Miller, who scored 19 points with five assists in that win. Miller torched Weber State for 27 points in the first meeting this season and is averaging 18.6 points over his last seven games. Weber State seeks to rebound from an 84-66 loss at Eastern Washington on Feb. 14. The Wildcats are powered by guard Tijan Saine, who had 20 points in that defeat. Saine, who scored 24 against Montana State in January, has been prolific, averaging 22.8 points over his last eight contests. The matchup features two of the conference’s top offensive guards. Miller’s efficiency and playmaking will be tested against Saine’s high-volume scoring. Montana State has won three of its last five. Weber State has struggled for consistency, alternating wins and losses in its last six games. The Bobcats hold a slight edge in the recent series, winning three of the last five meetings. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. MST Thursday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+. Weber State hosts Montana on Saturday. Montana State travels to face Idaho State on Saturday.
