Preview: Drexel Dragons at Northeastern Huskies BOSTON (Interstat) β€” Two Colonial Athletic Association men’s basketball teams heading in opposite directions will meet Thursday night when the Drexel Dragons visit the Northeastern Huskies at Matthews Arena. The Dragons (13-14) enter the contest looking to steady themselves after a narrow 72-69 road loss to Stony Brook on Monday. Despite the defeat, Drexel had won three of its previous five games. The Huskies (6-18), meanwhile, are mired in a prolonged slump, having lost eight consecutive games. Their most recent outing was a 94-67 home loss to William & Mary on Feb. 12. This matchup is a quick rematch of a Jan. 24 meeting in Philadelphia, which Drexel won 83-78. In that game, Dragons guard Shane Blakeney recorded 14 points, four rebounds, four assists and three blocks. Blakeney remains the focal point for Drexel, averaging 17.1 points over his last seven contests. He is coming off a 19-point, four-assist performance in the loss to Stony Brook. Northeastern will counter with guard Xavier Abreu, who scored a season-high 24 points in the loss to William & Mary. Abreu was also a key contributor in the first matchup with Drexel, finishing with 19 points and seven rebounds. While Drexel holds the superior record, road wins have been elusive; the Dragons are 4-9 away from home this season. Northeastern will seek to capitalize on that vulnerability and find a spark to snap its lengthy skid. The Huskies are 5-7 at Matthews Arena this season. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. EST tipoff on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026. Up Next: Drexel hosts Towson on Saturday. Northeastern hosts Hofstra on Saturday.
