Preview: Richmond Spiders at Davidson Wildcats DAVIDSON, N.C. (Interstat) — The Davidson Wildcats will look to complete a regular-season sweep and solidify their Atlantic 10 Conference standing when they host the Richmond Spiders on Wednesday night at Belk Arena. Davidson (15-10) enters the matchup with momentum from a decisive 79-54 victory at Richmond just over two weeks ago on Jan. 31. The Wildcats have since gone 2-2, including a 114-53 rout of non-conference foe Mid-Atlantic Christian and an 84-64 win over Loyola Chicago. They are coming off a 70-59 loss at Dayton on Sunday. The Wildcats are led by guard Parker Friedrichsen, who scored 15 points in the first meeting against Richmond. Friedrichsen is averaging 16.3 points over his last three games, including a 21-point performance at Dayton. Richmond (14-12) seeks to halt a two-game skid and avenge its lopsided home loss to Davidson. The Spiders fell 78-67 to VCU on Saturday and have lost six of their last eight games. Their only win in that stretch was an 82-70 victory over George Mason on Feb. 10. Guard Will Johnston, Richmond’s key scorer, was held to 11 points in the first matchup with Davidson. He is coming off a 17-point effort against VCU and will be central to any Spiders’ resurgence. The game features a contrast in recent trajectories. Davidson has shown high-scoring capability, surpassing 80 points in three of its last five games. Richmond has struggled offensively, failing to reach 70 points in four of its last seven outings. A Wildcats win would strengthen their position in the conference ahead of a road trip to Fordham. The Spiders aim to level the season series before returning home to host Saint Bonaventure on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
