FLORENCE, Ala. (Interstat) — The Queens (N.C.) Royals will look to solidify their position in the ASUN Conference standings when they visit the North Alabama Lions on Wednesday night at Flowers Hall. The Royals (15-12) enter with momentum after an 87-81 home victory over Lipscomb on Saturday. They have won three of their last four games. The Lions (8-17) are coming off an 84-78 overtime win against Eastern Kentucky on Sunday, snapping a four-game skid. Queens dominated the first meeting this season, routing North Alabama 87-62 in Charlotte on Jan. 21. Royals forward Avantae Parker was a major factor in that win, scoring 18 points and blocking three shots in just 26 minutes. Parker is coming off a standout performance against Lipscomb, posting 22 points, four rebounds, three assists and six blocks. North Alabama will counter with forward Corneilous Williams, who is fresh from a 16-point, 15-rebound double-double in the overtime win over Eastern Kentucky. Williams had 12 points in the loss at Queens last month. The Royals have shown a potent offense, scoring 87 or more points in four of their last five games. Guard Yoav Berman, who had 16 points and seven assists against Lipscomb, provides a steady backcourt presence. The Lions will need to improve defensively after allowing 90 or more points in three of their last six contests. A Queens victory would move the team closer to a .500 record in conference play and continue its push for a favorable seed in the upcoming ASUN tournament. For North Alabama, the game represents an opportunity to build on its recent overtime win and gain a measure of revenge on its home floor. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. EST Wednesday.
