Preview: Clemson Tigers at Wake Forest Demon Deacons WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Interstat) — The Clemson Tigers, seeking to rebound from a tough road loss, visit the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in an Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball matchup Wednesday at Joel Coliseum. Clemson (20-6) enters on a two-game skid following a 54-67 loss at then-Duke on Saturday. Prior to that, the Tigers fell 66-76 to Virginia Tech. Despite the recent setbacks, Brad Brownell’s squad remains in strong position for an NCAA Tournament bid, having won five of its last seven. The Tigers will lean on forward RJ Godfrey, who is coming off a solid 10-point, 8-rebound performance in the loss at Duke. Over his last seven games, Godfrey is averaging 10.4 points and 4.0 rebounds, providing consistent interior production. Wake Forest (13-12) has shown resilience, winning two of its last three, including a 68-63 victory over Stanford last Saturday. The Demon Deacons are led by standout guard Juke Harris, who has been on a scoring tear. Harris is averaging 24.6 points over his last seven contests, including a 31-point effort in a loss to NC State on Jan. 31. He logged 40 minutes and scored 25 points in the win over Stanford. The Demon Deacons will need another high-output afternoon from Harris to counter a Clemson defense that allows just 64.2 points per game. Wake Forest’s conference record (3-8) belies its potency at home, where it is 10-4 this season. Clemson won the season’s first meeting, 74-70, at home on Jan. 6. In that game, the Tigers contained Harris to 14 points. For Clemson, a win is crucial to stabilize its standing in the ACC race after the consecutive losses. For Wake Forest, it represents an opportunity to build momentum and secure a signature conference victory at home. Following this game, Clemson hosts Florida State on Saturday. Wake Forest travels to face Virginia Tech on Saturday.
