Preview of Wednesday’s Patriot League Men’s Basketball Game LEWISBURG, Pa. (Interstat) — A tight Patriot League rematch is set for Wednesday night when the American Eagles visit the Bucknell Bison at Sojka Pavilion. American (14-13) seeks to avenge a 60-59 home loss to Bucknell on Feb. 4 and solidify its position in the conference standings. The Eagles are coming off a 75-63 victory over Army on Saturday, led by a 22-point performance from guard Madden Collins. Collins, averaging 15.4 points over his last eight games, is American’s primary offensive catalyst. His recent stretch includes a 20-point effort in a win at Holy Cross and a 22-point game at Loyola Maryland. Bucknell (8-19) looks to build on its earlier win over American and snap a three-game skid. The Bison fell 82-69 at Boston University on Saturday despite 19 points and five rebounds from forward Achile Spadone. Spadone has been a workhorse for Bucknell, playing 38 minutes or more in six of the last eight contests. He scored 24 points in a double-overtime win over Boston University on Jan. 31 and posted 18 points and seven rebounds in a close loss at Loyola Maryland. In the first meeting, Bucknell edged American by a point in a low-scoring affair. Spadone had nine points and three assists for the Bison, while Collins was held to seven points for the Eagles. The game features a contrast in recent momentum. American has won two of its last three, while Bucknell has lost seven of its last nine. However, the Bison’s confidence will be buoyed by the head-to-head result earlier this month. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. The Eagles travel to Lafayette on Sunday. The Bison host Holy Cross on Sunday.
