(Interstat) — A surging VCU team riding a seven-game winning streak will look to continue its dominance when it hosts a George Washington squad seeking consistency in an Atlantic 10 Conference men’s basketball clash Tuesday afternoon at Siegel Center. The Rams (20-6, 10-3 A-10) have not lost since Jan. 10 and are firmly in contention for the conference regular-season title. They are coming off a 78-67 road victory over rival Richmond on Saturday, led by 20 points from guard Terrence Hill. Hill has been a key catalyst during VCU’s run, averaging 16.3 points over his last seven contests. The visiting George Washington Revolutionaries (15-11, 6-7) have alternated wins and losses over their past six games. They are fresh off a 72-53 home win over George Mason on Friday, powered by a career-high 31 points from forward Luke Hunger. Hunger has been on a tear, averaging 22.5 points over his last four outings, including a 17-point, 13-rebound performance in a narrow loss at Duquesne on Feb. 7. This matchup presents a stark contrast in momentum. VCU’s defense, which has held opponents to 68.9 points per game during its streak, will be tested by Hunger’s recent offensive explosion.
