Preview: Fresno State at Wyoming BOSLER, Wyo. (Interstat) β€” Two teams jockeying for position in the Mountain West Conference standings meet Tuesday when the Wyoming Cowboys host the Fresno State Bulldogs at Arena-Auditorium. Wyoming (13-12 overall) looks to halt a three-game skid and avenge a narrow loss from earlier this season. The Cowboys fell 63-60 at Fresno State on Jan. 17. They are coming off a 79-68 road loss at Colorado State on Saturday, despite a 21-point performance from guard Damarion Dennis. Dennis has been a consistent offensive threat for Wyoming, averaging 17.2 points over his last five games. His scoring punch will be vital against a Fresno State defense that has shown recent improvement. Fresno State (12-12) arrives with momentum after a dominant 93-63 home victory over Air Force on Saturday. The Bulldogs showcased a balanced attack in that win, with Wilson Jacques and DeShawn Gory each scoring 18 points. Jacques, a key player to watch for the Bulldogs, is coming off one of his best performances of the season. His recent play has been variable, but he provides critical scoring and shot-blocking. The Bulldogs have struggled on the road in conference play, however, with recent losses at Utah State and Nevada. Securing a road win in the high altitude of Bosler would mark a significant step forward. Both teams sit near the middle of the Mountain West, making this a pivotal game for seeding with the conference tournament approaching. Wyoming holds a slight edge in the standings and will rely on its home court advantage, where it is 9-3 this season. Fresno State’s next game is at home against New Mexico on Saturday. Wyoming travels to face Grand Canyon on the same day. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST Tuesday.
