Preview: Baylor Bears at Kansas State Wildcats MANHATTAN, Kan. (Interstat) — Two Big 12 men’s basketball teams seeking to halt slides will meet Tuesday night when the Baylor Bears visit the Kansas State Wildcats at Bramlage Coliseum. Baylor (13-12 overall) arrives having lost three straight and five of its last six, including a 71-82 home defeat to Louisville on Saturday. The Bears have struggled defensively during the skid, allowing an average of 86.2 points in the five recent losses. Kansas State (10-15) has fared worse, mired in a six-game losing streak. The Wildcats are coming off a 64-78 loss at Houston on Saturday. Their conference play has been particularly difficult, with several losses by wide margins. A key matchup will feature Baylor guard Isaac Williams against Kansas State’s Nate Johnson. Williams is coming off a 20-point performance against Louisville and has scored in double figures in four of his last six games. Johnson, a versatile guard for the Wildcats, is fresh off a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds against Houston and tallied 13 points and 11 assists in a narrow loss to TCU on Feb. 7. For Baylor, secondary scoring behind Williams will be crucial. Tounde Yessoufou (16 points vs. Louisville) and Michael Rataj (11 points) provided support last outing. Kansas State will rely on PJ Haggerty, who scored 23 points against Houston, and Taj Manning to complement Johnson’s all-around play. Historically, the Bears have dominated the recent series, winning the last nine meetings. Kansas State’s last win over Baylor came in February 2019. Both teams are in the bottom half of the congested Big 12 standings and view this as a critical opportunity to build momentum for the final stretch of the regular season. Baylor’s offense, averaging 75.4 points per game, will test a Kansas State defense that has allowed 80.6 points per game during its six-game losing streak. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. CST tipoff Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026.
