Preview: Howard Bison at Delaware State Hornets LEIPSIC, Del. (Interstat) β A surging Howard squad looks to continue its push toward the top of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference standings when it visits struggling Delaware State on Monday night at Memorial Hall. The Bison (16-10, 7-2 MEAC) enter on a strong run, having won five of their last six games, including a decisive 79-53 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday. Howardβs offense has been potent during this stretch, averaging 80.2 points per game in those five wins. Howard is led by standout Bryce Harris, who is coming off a versatile performance with 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and four blocks against UMES. Over his last seven games, Harris has averaged 18.1 points and has scored 23 or more three times, including a 27-point, eight-rebound effort against Norfolk State on Jan. 31. The Hornets (6-16, 2-7) have lost three straight and six of their last seven, most recently falling 72-63 at North Carolina Central on Feb. 9. Delaware State has struggled offensively, failing to reach 65 points in four of its last five contests. Guard Miles Webb will be a key for the Hornets; he scored 21 points in the loss to NCCU but was held to just four points in a Feb. 7 defeat at Coppin State. This is the second meeting between the teams this season. Howard dominated the first matchup, winning 84-58 in Washington on Jan. 12. The Bison have won the last four head-to-head meetings. A Howard victory would solidify its position near the top of the conference with the regular-season title chase heating up. For Delaware State, the game represents a chance to halt its skid and play spoiler at home, where it is 4-5 this season. Following this game, Howard will host North Carolina Central on Feb. 21. Delaware State travels to face Morgan State on the same date. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST.
