South Florida (17-8, 8-4 AAC) enters on a three-game winning streak following a 66-58 road victory at Wichita State on Wednesday. The Bulls have won seven of their last nine, with their only losses in that span coming in overtime and by a single point. Florida Atlantic (14-11, 5-7), meanwhile, seeks to halt a four-game skid. The Owls are coming off an 81-73 loss at Rice on Wednesday and have struggled in close games, with three of their last four defeats coming by three points or fewer. The matchup features two of the conference’s top scorers in strong recent form. South Florida is powered by forward Izaiyah Nelson, who is averaging 18.4 points over his last five games. He recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds in the first meeting against FAU. Florida Atlantic will counter with guard Josiah Parker, who is averaging 19.4 points over his last five contests. He scored a team-high 25 points in the loss to Rice. In the Jan. 25 meeting in Tampa, the Bulls dominated the second half to win 89-75. South Florida shot 54.7% from the field and outrebounded the Owls 38-28 in that contest. A victory would bolster South Florida’s position near the top of the AAC standings.
