SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — The San Francisco Dons and San Diego Toreros meet Sunday in a West Coast Conference men’s basketball matchup at Jenny Craig Pavilion, with both teams looking to build momentum in the final stretch of the regular season. San Francisco (14-13, 4-8 WCC) arrives reeling, having lost five of its last six games, including a 90-63 home defeat to Oregon State on Thursday. The Dons’ offense has been inconsistent during the skid, a trend they hope to reverse against the Toreros. A key to that effort will be guard Ryan Beasley. The sophomore is coming off a 17-point performance against Oregon State and has shown high-scoring capability, dropping 30 points in a loss to Loyola Marymount on Feb. 4. However, his production has fluctuated, scoring four and eight points in two other recent contests. San Diego (11-16, 3-9) snapped a three-game losing streak with a 71-58 home victory over Portland on Wednesday. The Toreros are 8-5 at home this season and will look to leverage that home-court advantage. Guard Juanse Gorosito led the way against Portland with 19 points and five assists. His performance mirrored the team’s pattern, as he has been a barometer for San Diego’s success, contributing double-digit points in recent wins but limited output in losses. The Dons won the first meeting this season, 74-64 at home on Jan. 2. San Francisco has struggled on the road in conference play, however, posting a 1-5 record away from home against WCC opponents. With the conference tournament approaching, both teams are seeking to improve their seeding. A win for San Francisco would help stabilize its record above .500, while San Diego aims to climb out of the WCC cellar and build on its recent home victory. Tip-off is set for Sunday afternoon, Feb. 15, 2026.
