Preview: College of Charleston at Campbell BUIES CREEK, N.C. (Interstat) — A late-season Coastal Athletic Association rematch is set for Sunday when the Campbell Fightin’ Camels host the College of Charleston Cougars at Gore Arena. The Cougars (16-10) will look to complete a regular-season sweep after narrowly defeating the Fightin’ Camels (12-13) 87-83 in Charleston on Jan. 22. In that game, Charleston guard Jlynn Counter scored 23 points and dished out nine assists, while Campbell’s Jeremiah Johnson finished with 13 points and four assists. Counter enters as the focal point for Charleston, averaging 20.0 points and 6.3 assists over his last four games. His standout performance was a 28-point, 11-assist effort in a win at Northeastern on Jan. 31. However, the Cougars have dropped two straight, including a 62-66 home loss to Hofstra on Thursday where Counter had nine points and eight assists. Campbell arrives with momentum from a 79-71 road victory at North Carolina A&T on Feb. 7, led by Johnson’s 24 points and eight rebounds. Johnson has been a consistent force, averaging 19.8 points over his last five contests. Forward Dovydas Butka added a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the win. The Fightin’ Camels have shown offensive firepower, scoring 104 points in a win at William & Mary on Jan. 31, but have struggled for consistency in conference play. They will aim to leverage home court advantage to avenge January’s close loss and improve their position in the league standings. For Charleston, halting the two-game skid is crucial for maintaining momentum ahead of the conference tournament. The Cougars’ offense, which averages 77.2 points per game, will test a Campbell defense allowing 76.8 points per contest. Tip-off is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, Feb. 15, 2026.
