SAN MARCOS, Texas (Interstat) — A surging Texas State looks to continue its push in the Sun Belt Conference standings on Saturday when it hosts struggling Louisiana-Monroe at Strahan Coliseum. The Bobcats (16-11) have won five of their last six games, including a 74-62 victory over Troy on Wednesday. They sit in the upper tier of the conference and are building momentum for the postseason. Louisiana-Monroe (4-22) has lost eight of its last nine, most recently a 103-70 road defeat at Arkansas State. The matchup features two of the league’s top individual scorers. Texas State is led by guard DJ Hall, who is averaging 19.3 points over his last four games. He scored 21 in the win over Troy. For the Warhawks, guard Krystian Lewis has been a bright spot during a difficult season, erupting for a career-high 32 points in the loss to Arkansas State. Over his last five games, Lewis is averaging 25.4 points. Texas State won the first meeting this season, 84-79, in Monroe on Jan. 3. The Bobcats have been strong at home with a 10-3 record in San Marcos, while ULM is just 1-11 in true road games. The Bobcats’ balanced attack, which saw Mark Drone (15 points) and Kaden Gumbs (11 points, 4 assists) complement Hall in the midweek win, will challenge a Warhawks defense that allows a conference-worst 84.1 points per game. ULM’s offense runs almost entirely through Lewis, who has taken 30.6% of his team’s shots during conference play. Tipoff is set for Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026. Texas State will look to solidify its standing, while the Warhawks aim to pull off a major road upset behind Lewis’s hot hand.
