SAINT CHARLES, Mo. (Interstat) — A critical Ohio Valley Conference matchup with postseason implications is set for Saturday when the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks visit the Lindenwood Lions at Robert F. Hyland Performance Arena. Both teams enter the Valentine’s Day clash with identical 15-10 overall records, creating a logjam in the league standings. The game is a swift rematch of a Jan. 15 meeting, which Lindenwood won 88-76 on the road. The Lions will now look to defend their home court and complete the regular-season sweep. Southeast Missouri State arrives on a hot streak, having won five of its last six games. The Redhawks are coming off a dominant 90-65 victory over Southern Indiana on Feb. 7, where Brendan Terry led the way with 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Terry, a key player to watch, has been instrumental in the Redhawks’ surge, averaging 18.1 points over his last seven contests. Luke Almodovar, who scored 21 points in the last outing, provides additional scoring punch. Lindenwood has been inconsistent lately, alternating wins and losses over its past five games. The Lions are fresh from a 79-74 road win at Arkansas-Little Rock on Feb. 5, powered by a 24-point performance from Anias Futrell. The guard has been a consistent force, scoring 20 or more points in four of his last six games, including a 26-point, nine-rebound effort in a narrow win at Morehead State. The contest will feature a compelling duel between the two standout guards. Terry’s all-around play for the Redhawks will be tested against Futrell’s high-volume scoring for the Lions. The team that can best contain the other’s star will have a significant advantage. With both teams battling for positioning ahead of the OVC tournament, Saturday’s result could prove pivotal. Southeast Missouri State seeks to avenge its January loss and continue its climb, while Lindenwood aims to solidify its standing and hold serve at home. Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday afternoon in Saint Charles.
