SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA VISITS NORTHWESTERN STATE IN SOUTHLAND MATCHUP CYPRESS, La. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum in the back half of the Southland Conference schedule will meet Saturday when the Northwestern State Demons host the Southeastern Louisiana Lions at Prather Coliseum. The matchup features teams with nearly identical records. Southeastern Louisiana enters at 8-17 overall, while Northwestern State sits at 7-18. Both squads are coming off rare conference victories this past Monday. The Lions snapped a three-game skid with a 74-62 home win over Incarnate Word, led by 20 points from guard Makhi Myles. The Demons edged Lamar 70-68 on the road, fueled by 14 points, three assists and three blocks from guard Willie Williams. Myles has been a key offensive catalyst for the Lions, averaging 12.6 points over his last eight games, including a 20-point performance in the team’s most recent outing. Williams provides steady all-around play for the Demons, contributing scoring, playmaking and defensive presence. The Demons won the season’s first meeting, 76-68, in Hammond on Dec. 7. Saturday’s contest is the first of a quick two-game homestand for Northwestern State, which hosts McNeese State on Monday. Southeastern Louisiana continues its road swing at Texas A&M-Commerce on Monday. Tip-off is set for Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at Prather Coliseum.
