Preview: Penn State Visits Oregon in Big Ten Showdown EUGENE, Ore. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum in a challenging season will meet Saturday when the Penn State Nittany Lions face the Oregon Ducks in a nonconference men’s basketball game organized by the Big Ten Conference. The matchup at Matthew Knight Arena features struggling squads. Penn State (11-14 overall) arrives after snapping a two-game skid with a 63-60 road victory at Washington on Wednesday. Oregon (8-16) has lost seven consecutive games, most recently a 92-74 defeat at Indiana on Feb. 9. Penn State guard Kayden Mingo is a key player for the Nittany Lions. He scored 13 points in the win over Washington and has been a consistent contributor, including a 19-point, 5-assist effort at Maryland last month. He will be supported by Josh Reed and Freddie Dilione V, who combined for 30 points in the midweek victory. For the Ducks, guard Sean Stewart will look to help halt the team’s lengthy losing streak. Stewart scored 12 points at Indiana and had a season-high 22 points in a loss to Michigan on Jan. 17. Oregon will need production from Nate Bittle and Wei Lin, who each scored 15 points in the team’s last outing. Both teams have struggled defensively, with each allowing opponents to score 80 or more points frequently during their recent slides. Penn State’s win over Washington, however, marked a season-low for points allowed in a victory. This game is part of the Big Ten’s scheduling agreement and is the first meeting between the programs this season. Following this contest, Penn State returns to conference play at home against Rutgers on Feb. 18. Oregon continues its homestand against Minnesota on Feb. 17. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. PST on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026.
