LINCOLN, Neb. (Interstat) — A surging Nebraska team seeking to rebound from its first home loss will host a struggling Northwestern squad on Saturday at Pinnacle Bank Arena in a Big Ten men’s basketball matchup. The No. 8-ranked Cornhuskers (21-3, 10-3 Big Ten) saw their 10-game winning streak snapped in an 80-77 overtime defeat to Purdue on Tuesday. Despite the setback, Nebraska remains among the conference’s elite, boasting a potent offense and a perfect 13-0 record at home this season. Northwestern (10-15, 4-10) arrives in Lincoln mired in a four-game losing skid, most recently an 87-75 home loss to Michigan on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled on the road, going 2-8 away from home, and were handily defeated 77-58 by these same Cornhuskers in Evanston just four weeks ago. A key matchup will feature Nebraska guard Jamarques Lawrence against Northwestern’s Jayden Reid. Lawrence is coming off a 16-point, 4-assist effort against Purdue and scored 8 points with 4 assists in the January win over Northwestern. Reid exploded for 20 points in the loss to Michigan but was held to 7 points on 3-of-11 shooting in the previous meeting with Nebraska. The Cornhuskers have dominated the recent series, winning the last three meetings by an average of 18.3 points. Nebraska’s balanced attack, led by Lawrence, Rienk Mast and Pryce Sandfort, will test a Northwestern defense allowing 75.2 points per game in conference play. Nebraska is a 13-point pregame favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, with an over/under of 143.5 points. The game tips off at 5 p.m. CST on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026.
