GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Interstat) — A pivotal Summit League men’s basketball matchup with postseason implications is set for Saturday when the North Dakota State Bison visit the North Dakota Fighting Hawks at Engelstad Arena. The Bison (20-6 overall) enter as one of the conference’s top teams, having won seven of their last nine games. Their most recent outing was a 92-84 home victory over Omaha on Feb. 7, led by Noah Feddersen’s 18 points and six rebounds. Feddersen, a key player to watch, has scored in double figures in six consecutive games, averaging 13.1 points and showcasing strong defensive presence with multiple blocks in four of those contests. North Dakota (15-13) looks to build momentum after a narrow 72-71 road win at South Dakota on Feb. 11. Guard Greyson Uelmen carried the offense in that victory, scoring 24 points. Uelmen has been on a scoring tear, averaging 23.2 points over his last six games, including a 30-point performance at Denver on Jan. 24. The Fighting Hawks have shown resilience, winning three of their last five. The rivalry game, the second of a home-and-home series this month, will heavily impact the Summit League standings. North Dakota State’s efficient offense, which has scored 86 or more points in four of its last six wins, will test a North Dakota defense that allowed 98 points in a loss to Denver on Feb. 7. The Bison won the first meeting this season, 84-61, in Fargo on Dec. 4. Saturday’s rematch in Grand Forks offers the Fighting Hawks a chance for redemption and a critical resume-boosting victory as the regular season enters its final stretch. The teams will conclude the regular season against each other in Fargo on Feb. 28. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. CST at Engelstad Arena.
