Preview: Minnesota Golden Gophers at Washington Huskies SEATTLE (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum for a late-season push will meet when the Minnesota Golden Gophers visit the Washington Huskies in a Big Ten men’s basketball matchup on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at Hec Edmundson Pavilion. Both squads enter with nearly identical records and recent struggles. Minnesota (11-13) has lost five of its last six games, including a 67-62 home loss to Maryland on Feb. 8. Washington (12-13) has dropped four of its last five, most recently falling 63-60 to Penn State at home on Feb. 11. The game will feature a compelling duel between standout guards. Minnesota’s Isaac Asuma has been a consistent bright spot, averaging 13.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists over his last seven contests. He scored 18 points in the loss to Maryland. Washington will counter with Hannes Steinbach, who has shouldered a major scoring load, averaging 17.1 points over his last eight games. He poured in 19 points against Penn State. For Minnesota, support for Asuma has come from Langston Reynolds, who had 11 points, six rebounds and five assists against Maryland, and Cade Tyson, who added 12 points. Washington’s Wesley Yates, who scored 11 points in the last outing, and Quimari Peterson are key complementary pieces. The Golden Gophers’ last victory was a 76-73 home win over Michigan State on Feb. 4. The Huskies’ most recent win was a 76-62 road victory at Northwestern on Jan. 31. Both teams are near the bottom of the conference standings and desperately need a win to improve their positioning ahead of the Big Ten tournament. History will be made as this marks one of the first conference meetings between the programs since the Big Ten’s expansion, adding another layer to the Valentine’s Day contest in Seattle. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. PST.
