(Interstat) ā Two teams seeking to halt lengthy slides will meet Saturday when Georgia Tech visits Notre Dame in an Atlantic Coast Conference menās basketball matchup. The Yellow Jackets (11-14) and Fighting Irish (11-14) enter with identical records and both mired in losing streaks. Georgia Tech has dropped five consecutive games following an 83-67 home loss to Wake Forest on Wednesday. Notre Dame has lost four straight, most recently an 89-81 defeat at SMU on Tuesday. The game tips off at 2 p.m. EST at the Joyce Athletic Center. A key matchup will feature two of the conferenceās top scoring guards. The Irish won the seasonās first meeting, 75-68, in Atlanta on Jan. 7 behind 19 points from Markus Burton. That game ignited Notre Dameās current home winning streak in the series, which stands at three games. With both teams sitting at 4-10 in ACC play, the game represents a critical opportunity to gain momentum before the conference tournament. The loser will face an increasingly steep climb to avoid finishing in the leagueās basement. For Georgia Tech, Baye Ndongo provides an interior presence, coming off a 14-point game against Wake Forest. Notre Dameās Braeden Shrewsberry, who scored 16 against SMU, offers perimeter shooting to complement Haralsonās slashing attacks. The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
