LEXINGTON, Va. (Interstat) — The Furman Paladins look to halt a three-game skid and solidify their standing in the Southern Conference when they visit the struggling Virginia Military Institute Keydets on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at Cameron Hall. Furman (16-10) enters the matchup after a narrow 69-64 road loss at Mercer on Wednesday. The Paladins had won four of five prior to their current losing streak, which includes overtime heartbreakers against East Tennessee State and UNC Greensboro. VMI (6-20) seeks to end a prolonged downturn, having lost 10 consecutive games since a Jan. 15 defeat to Mercer. The Keydets are coming off a 92-71 loss at UNC Greensboro. The Paladins will rely on guard Cooper Bowser, who has been a consistent offensive force. He is averaging 15.8 points over his last four games, including a 20-point, 6-rebound performance against UNC Greensboro on Feb. 8. For VMI, guard Linus Holmstrom provides the primary scoring threat. He erupted for 23 points in the loss to UNC Greensboro and has topped 20 points in two of his last three outings. The teams met just over a month ago in Greenville, S.C., with Furman cruising to a 69-48 victory. The Paladins have dominated the recent series, winning the last eight meetings. A key storyline will be Furman’s ability to convert its superior record into a decisive road win against a VMI squad that has found victories elusive in conference play. The Paladins aim to use this game as a springboard for the final stretch of the season, while the Keydets desperately seek a positive result to build upon at home. The game tips off at 1 p.m. EST as part of the Southern Conference schedule. Furman’s next game is at home against East Tennessee State on Feb. 18. VMI travels to face Wofford on the same date.
