FRESNO, Calif. (Interstat) — The Fresno State Bulldogs will look to improve their position in the Mountain West standings when they host the struggling Air Force Falcons on Saturday at Save Mart Center. The Bulldogs (11-12) enter the contest seeking consistency after alternating wins and losses over their past six games. They are coming off a 91-78 road loss at Utah State on Tuesday, despite a 21-point, five-assist performance from guard DeShawn Gory. Fresno State defeated Air Force 79-62 just two weeks ago on Jan. 31, a game in which Gory contributed 10 rebounds. Air Force (3-21) aims to halt a 10-game losing streak, the program’s longest this season. The Falcons are reeling from a 91-74 home loss to Colorado State on Tuesday. Guard Kam Sanders has been a bright spot during the skid, averaging 12.1 points over the last seven games. He scored 17 points with six assists against the Rams. Fresno State’s offense, led by Gory’s recent surge of 17.4 points per game over his last five, will test an Air Force defense that has allowed an average of 83.4 points during its losing streak. The Bulldogs won the season’s first meeting by capitalizing on 15 Air Force turnovers and a 38-24 scoring advantage in the paint. The Falcons have not won since a Dec. 22 victory over Mississippi Valley State and are 0-10 in true road games this season. Their last conference win was on Jan. 3, 2025. Saturday’s game tips off at 7 p.m. PST and is the only scheduled meeting in Fresno between the teams this regular season. Following this matchup, Fresno State travels to face Wyoming on Tuesday, while Air Force visits New Mexico.
