(Interstat) — The surging Yale Bulldogs visit Leede Arena on Friday night to face the Dartmouth Big Green in an Ivy League men’s basketball matchup. Yale (17-4, 6-1 Ivy) enters as one of the conference’s hottest teams, having won nine of its last ten games. The Bulldogs are coming off an 87-81 overtime road win at Howard on Monday, a game in which guard Trevor Mullin played all 40 minutes and scored 23 points. Mullin has been a consistent offensive force, averaging 14.6 points per game over his last seven contests, including a 21-point performance in a narrow loss to Harvard on Jan. 31. Dartmouth (10-11, 2-5) looks to rebound from a 71-58 home loss to Harvard on Feb. 7 and improve its standing in the league. That prior matchup, played in New Haven on Jan. 30, resulted in a decisive 83-68 victory for Yale. The Bulldogs used a balanced attack, with Mullin contributing 13 points in just 20 minutes of play, to pull away from Dartmouth. The Bulldogs’ potent offense, which has scored 80 or more points in five of its last seven games, will test a Dartmouth defense that has allowed an average of 74.6 points in conference play. Yale’s success has been built on efficiency; in their six Ivy League wins, they have won by an average margin of 17.8 points. For Dartmouth, securing a home split in the season series would provide a crucial boost as it aims to climb out of the lower half of the Ivy standings.
