(Interstat) — A surging Saint Thomas (Minn.) team, boasting one of the nation’s top records, visits Baxter Arena on Thursday to face an Omaha squad featuring one of the Summit League’s most explosive scorers. The Tommies (20-6, 8-3 Summit) enter on a three-game winning streak, including a dominant 92-75 victory over Oral Roberts last Saturday. They sit near the top of the conference standings, powered by an offense averaging 85.2 points per game. Omaha (12-14, 5-6) looks to rebound from a 92-84 road loss at North Dakota State and improve its position in the league tournament chase. The Mavericks have shown resilience at home, winning three of their last four at Baxter Arena. The spotlight will be on a high-scoring backcourt duel. Saint Thomas guard Nolan Minessale is playing at an all-conference level, coming off a 28-point performance against Oral Roberts and averaging 22.4 points over his last five games. His efficiency and playmaking have been central to the Tommies’ success. He will be matched by Omaha’s dynamic Paul Djobet, who is coming off a career-high 38 points in the loss to NDSU.
