Preview: Wake Forest at Georgia Tech ATLANTA (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to halt prolonged slides in Atlantic Coast Conference play will meet Wednesday when Wake Forest visits Georgia Tech. The Demon Deacons (11-12, 1-9 ACC) and Yellow Jackets (11-13, 2-9) enter Hank McCamish Pavilion mired in extended losing streaks. Wake Forest has dropped five consecutive games, while Georgia Tech has lost four of its last five. The matchup features two of the conference’s most prolific scorers in recent weeks. Wake Forest will lean on guard Juke Harris, who is averaging 23 points over his last six games. He is coming off a 25-point, 11-rebound performance in an 88-80 home loss to Louisville on Saturday. Georgia Tech counters with guard Akai Fleming, who has scored 19 points in each of his last two outings, including in a 95-72 loss at Stanford on Saturday. His production has been inconsistent in conference play, however, with four single-digit scoring efforts in ACC games this month. Both teams have struggled defensively. During its five-game skid, Wake Forest has allowed an average of 89.2 points per game. Georgia Tech has yielded 90 or more points in three of its last five contests. The Demon Deacons’ last win was a 69-68 victory at Florida State on Jan. 17. Georgia Tech’s most recent win was a 78-74 triumph at North Carolina State on Jan. 17. Wednesday’s game represents a critical opportunity for either team to build momentum for the final stretch of the regular season. Following this contest, Wake Forest hosts Stanford on Saturday, while Georgia Tech travels to face Notre Dame. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
