Preview: Temple Owls at Tulane Green Wave NEW ORLEANS (Interstat) ā Two American Athletic Conference teams heading in opposite directions will meet Wednesday afternoon when the Temple Owls visit the Tulane Green Wave at Devlin Fieldhouse. Temple (15-8, 8-3 AAC) arrives in New Orleans riding a three-game winning streak, most recently an 81-73 road victory at East Carolina on Saturday. The Owls have won seven of their last nine conference games to solidify their position in the upper tier of the league standings. Conversely, Tulane (13-10, 4-7) has lost six of its last seven games, including a 75-61 home defeat to Wichita State on Sunday. The Green Wave will be looking to halt their slide and improve a home record that has slipped to 9-4 this season. The matchup features two of the conferenceās top scorers. Temple will lean on guard Aiden Tobiason, who is averaging 20.1 points per game in his last seven contests. He is coming off a 27-point, 6-rebound performance against East Carolina and has scored 15 or more points in 13 straight games. Tulaneās hopes will rest largely with guard Rowan Brumbaugh, who has been a bright spot during the teamās struggles. He is averaging 20.4 points per game over the same seven-game span, including a 35-point outburst in a narrow loss at Charlotte on Jan. 23. In Templeās recent surge, balance has been key. Alongside Tobiason, guards Jordan Mason (15 points, 7 assists) and Derrian Ford (11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists) were pivotal in the win at East Carolina. The Owls have shown resilience in close games, with four of their last five wins coming by six points or fewer. Tulane has struggled defensively during its slump, allowing an average of 78.4 points in its last seven games. Containing Tobiason and improving defensive communication will be paramount for coach Ron Hunterās squad. This is the first of two scheduled meetings between the teams this season. They are set to meet again at Temple in Philadelphia on March 5. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. EST Wednesday.
