Preview: Buffalo Bulls at Ball State Cardinals MUNCIE, Ind. (Interstat) — The Buffalo Bulls look to solidify their position in the Mid-American Conference standings when they visit the struggling Ball State Cardinals on Wednesday night at Worthen Arena. Buffalo (14-9) enters the matchup having lost four of its last five games, including a 69-81 road loss at South Alabama on Feb. 7. Despite the recent skid, the Bulls boast a superior overall record and defeated Ball State 85-72 in the teams’ first meeting this season on Jan. 3 in Buffalo. The Bulls are led by guard Ryan Sabol, who has been a consistent offensive force. He is coming off a 23-point, 8-rebound performance against South Alabama and has scored 20 or more points in five of his last eight games. Angelo Brizzi added 26 points in that loss, providing a secondary scoring punch. Ball State (8-15) has found wins hard to come by but is fresh off a 73-68 road victory at Louisiana-Monroe on Feb. 7. Forward Kayden Fish led the way with 17 points and six rebounds in that contest. The Cardinals will need a similar performance from him and backcourt contributor Davion Hill (14 points, 4 assists vs. ULM) to challenge the Bulls. The Cardinals have struggled defensively, allowing 77 points or more in three of their last five games. Containing Sabol and Brizzi will be a primary concern for the home team. Wednesday’s game is the second of a regular-season series between the MAC foes. Following this contest, Buffalo hosts Northern Illinois on Feb. 17, while Ball State remains home to face Kent State on Feb. 14. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
