Preview: Boston University Terriers at Army Black Knights WEST POINT, N.Y. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum in a tightly packed Patriot League standings will meet Wednesday night when the Boston University Terriers visit the Army Black Knights at Christl Arena. Both teams enter the Feb. 11 contest with identical 10-15 overall records, adding stakes to the conference matchup. The game is a quick rematch of a Jan. 10 shootout, which Boston University won 100-91 on its home floor. The Terriers (10-15) arrive with some confidence after a 78-69 victory over Loyola Maryland on Saturday. Forward Ben Defty has been a consistent force for BU, averaging 17.1 points over his last eight games. In the win over Loyola, he posted 18 points and nine rebounds. Michael McNair added a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Chance Gladden dished out seven assists. Army (10-15), however, looks to rebound from a frustrating 63-60 home loss to Lafayette on Saturday. The Black Knights’ offense stalled, with key guard Ryan Curry held to just five points, though he contributed five rebounds and five assists. Curry’s performance is often a bellwether for Army; he scored 27 points in a win over Holy Cross on Jan. 31 but was limited to three points in a loss to Colgate on Feb. 4. Recent history shows both teams have been involved in numerous close games. Boston University has played in four overtime contests in its last 10 outings, going 2-2 in those games. Army also has recent overtime experience, including an 87-84 win at Bucknell on Jan. 21. Defensively, Boston University will need to contain Curry’s playmaking and scoring versatility, while Army must find an answer for Defty’s interior presence and the Terriers’ balanced attack that produced 100 points in the last meeting. With the Patriot League tournament seeding on the line, Wednesday’s game represents a critical opportunity for either squad to break from the logjam in the middle of the conference and build a late-season run. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST at Christl Arena.
