The Revolutionaries (13-11) look to snap a four-game skid, their latest a narrow 88-86 road loss at Duquesne on the same day. Rhode Island is powered by the hot hand of guard Tyler Cochran, who is coming off a career performance. In the win over Richmond, Cochran scored 34 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Over his last five games, he is averaging 22.2 points, demonstrating his role as the Rams’ primary offensive catalyst. George Washington will counter with versatile forward Jean Aranguren, who recorded a triple-double in the loss to Duquesne with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. His all-around play will be critical for a Revolutionaries squad that has struggled to close out tight games during its recent slide, with three of the four losses coming by three points or fewer. The teams have followed divergent paths in recent weeks. Rhode Island has won four of its last six contests. George Washington has lost five of its last six, with its only win in that span an 85-69 victory over Richmond on Jan. 24. Historically, the venue has provided an edge for George Washington. The Revolutionaries are 10-4 at home this season, while the Rams are 3-5 in true road games. A key matchup will be on the glass, where both Cochran and Aranguren are relentless rebounders from the guard position. Rhode Island’s Jahmere Tripp (17 points vs. Richmond) and George Washington’s Luke Hunger (17 points, 13 rebounds vs. Duquesne) will also be pivotal in the frontcourt battle.
