Arizona Puts Perfect Record on Line at Kansas LAWRENCE, Kan. (Interstat) — The nation’s last unbeaten team faces one of its most daunting tests Monday night as top-ranked Arizona visits Kansas in a marquee Big 12 showdown at Allen Fieldhouse. The Wildcats (23-0, 10-0 Big 12) have steamrolled through their schedule, winning by an average of 22.3 points. Their perfect mark will be challenged by the tradition and raucous environment of one of college basketball’s most iconic venues, where the Jayhawks (18-5, 8-2) are 11-1 this season. Arizona, which crushed Oklahoma State 84-47 on Saturday, is led by guard Jaden Bradley. He is averaging 14.4 points and 4.1 assists over his last seven games, including a 26-point performance in a narrow win at BYU. He forms part of a deep, balanced attack that features four players averaging double-figure scoring. Kansas counters with a dominant force in the paint in forward Flory Bidunga. The big man is coming off a triple-double in a 71-59 win over Utah on Saturday, posting 17 points, 10 rebounds and a staggering seven blocks. Over his last seven games, Bidunga is averaging 16.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.7 blocks, providing a formidable interior presence the Wildcats have not yet faced. The Jayhawks have won eight of their last nine games, with the only loss in that stretch a road defeat at West Virginia. Their home-court advantage is significant, holding opponents to just 60.2 points per game at Allen Fieldhouse. This matchup is the first of a home-and-home series between the new Big 12 rivals, with the return game scheduled for Feb. 28 in Tucson, Arizona. For Arizona, the quest to preserve a perfect season enters its most hostile environment. For Kansas, it’s an opportunity to hand the nation’s team its first loss and make a major statement in the conference race. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. CST Monday.
