CARROLLTON, Ga. (Interstat) β€” A high-scoring rematch is set for Thursday night when the West Georgia Wolves host the North Florida Ospreys in an ASUN Conference men’s basketball game at The Coliseum. The Wolves (10-12) won the first meeting this season, 85-73, in Jacksonville on Jan. 8. Both teams feature dynamic guards coming off prolific performances in narrow losses last Saturday. North Florida (5-18) is led by Kamrin Oriol, who is averaging 28.4 points and 7.6 assists over his last five games. He scored 35 points and dished 10 assists in a 100-94 loss to Lipscomb on Jan. 31. In the first matchup against West Georgia, Oriol finished with 28 points. West Georgia counters with Shelton Williams-Dryden, who posted a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double in a 81-78 loss to Austin Peay on Jan. 31. He scored 27 points in the January victory over North Florida. Williams-Dryden is averaging 23.6 points over his last seven contests. The Ospreys have lost three straight but have been competitive, with their last two defeats by a combined 13 points. Their offense runs through Oriol, who has help from Kent Jackson (32 points vs. Lipscomb) and Mason Lee (17 points, 11 rebounds vs. Lipscomb). The Wolves have dropped four of their last five, with three of those losses by six points or fewer. They will look to leverage home court advantage to sweep the season series and improve their conference standing. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. North Florida travels to face Queens (N.C.) on Saturday, while West Georgia hosts Jacksonville the same day.
