OMAHA, Neb. (Interstat) — A pivotal Summit League men’s basketball matchup with postseason implications is set for Thursday when the Omaha Mavericks visit the North Dakota Fighting Hawks at Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks. Both teams enter the contest with nearly identical records, as Omaha sits at 12-12 overall and North Dakota at 13-12. The game is a quick rematch of a Jan. 8 meeting in Omaha, which the Mavericks won 90-79 behind a balanced offensive attack. Omaha arrives with momentum, having won four of its last five games, including an 84-82 road victory at Denver last Saturday. The Mavericks are led by the hot hand of forward Paul Djobet, who is averaging 24.3 points over his last six games. He posted a 27-point, 11-rebound double-double in the win at Denver and scored 18 in the earlier victory over North Dakota.
