Preview: Detroit Titans at Milwaukee Panthers MILWAUKEE (Interstat) — Two Horizon League teams seeking momentum will meet Wednesday when the Detroit Titans visit the Milwaukee Panthers at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. Both teams enter with identical 9-12 records in conference play, though their overall marks differ. Detroit (9-12 overall) arrives riding high after a 90-77 home victory over Northern Kentucky last Friday. Milwaukee (9-15 overall) looks to rebound from a narrow 90-88 home loss to Cleveland State on Sunday. The matchup features two of the league’s top performers. Detroit is led by guard Tyler Spratt, who is coming off a career-high 28-point, 6-assist effort in the win over Northern Kentucky. Over his last seven games, Spratt is averaging 18.1 points and has scored 16 or more points in six of those contests. Milwaukee counters with versatile forward Aaron Franklin, who nearly recorded a triple-double in the loss to Cleveland State, finishing with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. He leads the Panthers in scoring and is a consistent all-around threat. The Titans have shown a potent offense recently, averaging 85.3 points over their last three games, with Spratt, Orlando Lovejoy and Lance Stone providing a three-pronged scoring attack. The Panthers have struggled defensively, allowing 80 or more points in five of their last seven outings. This game is the first of a regular-season home-and-home series between the teams, who will meet again in Detroit on Feb. 20. Wednesday’s contest offers a chance for either squad to climb above .500 in league play and gain positioning ahead of the Horizon League tournament. Following this game, Detroit will visit Green Bay on Saturday. Milwaukee will travel to face Northern Kentucky on the same day.
