PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Interstat) — Harvard looks to rebound from a tough home loss when it visits Brown in an Ivy League men’s basketball matchup Friday night at Pizzitola Sports Center. The Crimson (10-9, 3-2 Ivy) fell 86-79 to Cornell on Saturday, despite 18 points from standout guard Tey Barbour. Harvard had won three straight conference games prior to that defeat. Barbour has been a consistent force, averaging 13.4 points over his last five contests, including a 17-point performance in a narrow win over Penn on Jan. 19. Brown (6-11, 1-4) seeks to end a three-game skid, most recently a 63-53 loss at Princeton. The Bears’ lone Ivy victory came in overtime against Columbia on Jan. 17, powered by a 26-point outburst from forward Landon Lewis. Lewis nearly posted a double-double against Princeton with 13 points and nine rebounds, showcasing his all-around play. Harvard holds the superior overall and conference record, but the Bears have shown resilience at home, winning two of their last three in Providence. The Crimson won both meetings last season. Friday’s contest is the first of a crucial back-to-back weekend for both teams. Harvard travels to first-place Yale on Saturday, while Brown hosts Dartmouth. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
