Preview: UNLV Runninā Rebels at No. -- Utah State Aggies LOGAN, Utah (Interstat) ā A surging Utah State squad looks to rebound from its first loss in over a month when it hosts an inconsistent UNLV team in a Mountain West Conference menās basketball clash Tuesday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The Aggies (15-2, 4-1 MW) saw a nine-game winning streak snapped in a non-conference 84-74 road loss at Grand Canyon on Saturday. Prior to that, Utah State had been dominant, winning its first four league games by an average of 25.5 points. They are 9-0 at home this season. UNLV (9-8, 3-2) arrives having won two straight, including a 76-62 victory at San Jose State on Saturday. The Runninā Rebels have struggled on the road, however, with a 2-5 record away from home and losses in their two previous Mountain West road trips to Colorado State and Wyoming. A key matchup will feature two of the conferenceās top guards. Utah Stateās Mason Falslev is averaging 21.2 points over his last five games, including a 25-point performance in the loss at Grand Canyon. He has scored in double figures in every game this season. UNLV will counter with Howie Fleming, who is coming off a 21-point, 8-assist effort against San Jose State. His playmaking will be critical against an Aggies defense that leads the Mountain West in scoring margin. Utah State holds a significant edge in recent series history, having won seven of the last eight meetings. The Aggies won both matchups last season by double digits. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. MST tip-off. Utah State travels to Colorado State on Friday, while UNLV hosts San Diego State on Saturday.
