Saint Louis Visits Duquesne in Atlantic 10 Clash PITTSBURGH (Interstat) — The surging Saint Louis Billikens, boasting one of the nation’s best records, will face the Duquesne Dukes in an Atlantic 10 Conference men’s basketball game Tuesday night at the A.J. Palumbo Center. Saint Louis (17-1, 5-0 A-10) enters on a 12-game winning streak, most recently an 88-63 rout of Richmond on Saturday. The Billikens have dominated conference play, winning their five league games by an average of 18.4 points. Duquesne (10-8, 2-3) looks to build momentum after a 74-63 road victory at Fordham snapped a three-game skid. The Dukes have struggled at home in conference action, dropping games to Dayton and VCU. A key matchup will feature two of the league’s top guards. Saint Louis sophomore Kellen Thames has been consistently excellent, scoring in double figures in six of his last seven games, including 16 points in back-to-back wins over Fordham and Richmond. He is averaging 14.3 points per game in A-10 play. Duquesne will counter with senior point guard Tarence Guinyard, who nearly posted a triple-double at Fordham with 11 points and nine assists. Guinyard has been a workhorse, logging 37 or more minutes in four of the last five games and averaging 18.2 points and 6.0 assists in that span. The Billikens have shown remarkable balance, with Robbie Avila (14 points) and Dion Brown (10 points) joining Thames as double-figure scorers against Richmond. Duquesne’s Jimmie Williams, who scored 19 points against Fordham, and Cameron Crawford provide crucial scoring support for Guinyard. Historically, the home team has won the last four meetings in this series. Duquesne will need that home-court advantage to counter a Saint Louis team that has been relentless on both ends of the floor. The Billikens rank first in the A-10 in scoring margin (+22.7) during conference games. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
