Air Force, Mired in Losing Streak, Faces Colorado State in Fort Collins FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Interstat) ā The struggling Air Force Falcons, losers of nine straight games, will look to snap their skid when they visit the Colorado State Rams in a Mountain West Conference menās basketball matchup Tuesday night at Moby Arena. The Falcons (3-15, 0-5 MW) enter on the heels of an 81-66 home loss to Nevada on Saturday. Their last win came on Dec. 3. Colorado State (11-7, 2-3), meanwhile, aims to rebound after dropping two consecutive road games, most recently a 79-73 defeat at Boise State on Friday. Air Forceās offense has sputtered during conference play, failing to reach 70 points in any of its five league contests. The team will lean on guard Lucas Hobin, who is coming off a season-high 22-point performance against Nevada. Hobin has averaged 12 points per game over his last six outings, providing a rare bright spot for the Falconsā attack. Colorado State counters with its own backcourt leader in Jevin Muniz. The guard has been a steady facilitator, dishing 4.2 assists per game over the Ramsā last five contests while averaging 11.8 points. His playmaking will be key against an Air Force defense that has allowed an average of 82.6 points in its five conference losses. The Rams have found success at home this season, boasting a 7-2 record in Fort Collins. Their defense at Moby Arena will be tested by Hobin, but Colorado Stateās balanced scoring presents a significant challenge for the Falcons. In the loss to Boise State, Rashaan Mbemba and Brandon Rechsteiner joined Muniz in double figures, each scoring 17 points. Historically, this series has favored Colorado State, which has won the last seven meetings. The teams will meet again in Colorado Springs on Feb. 10. For Air Force, the task is to find consistency and break a streak defined by defensive struggles. For the Rams, the game represents an opportunity to stabilize their conference standing before a pivotal stretch that includes a home game against Utah State on Friday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST Tuesday.
